Founder Note

Showcasing the vibrant art of Punjab's rich culture.

The Punjab Pavilion was born from a dream—to preserve and celebrate the richness of our heritage. Canada stands as a beacon of multicultural harmony, and I wanted to create a space where tradition thrives, bringing generations together. Since its founding in 2017, the Pavilion has been a tribute to Punjab’s vibrant arts, music, poetry, and cuisine. We welcome all to experience the magic of culture without boundaries, fostering goodwill and fellowship. Through this nonprofit, we ensure that our heritage is not only remembered but passed on to the young and newcomers, keeping our traditions alive for generations to come.

He is deeply embedded in the fabric of the Punjabi-Canadian community and has built strong relationships across cultural, political, and social spheres over the decades.

Beyond his cultural work, Chagger is also widely respected as a marriage registrar and minister of religion, having solemnized nearly 2,000 marriages since 1980.

Originally from Ludhiana, Punjab, Chagger immigrated to Canada in 1975. Though trained as an engineer, he quickly became a respected figure in both the financial services sector and the Punjabi-Canadian community. His early years in Canada were marked by deep involvement in education and cultural preservation—he oversaw five Punjabi schools in the County of Waterloo and held leadership roles in Sikh organizations, including president of Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Cambridge and general secretary of the Golden Triangle Sikh Association in Kitchener
